PM Modi and the ministry did a great job by bringing Cheetahs from Namibias to India via special aircraft last year September, 12 Cheetahs from South Africa on this year February and all the Cheetahs are kept in Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh.
Preservation of Cheetah, tigers or any other wildlife animals should be our utmost commitment and dedication and for future generations as well.
A female Cheetah named Jwala gave birth to four cubs/children back on March 2023, which is nearly around 2 months back.
They all were kept along with the mother within the fenced area.
As per the officials, on May 23rd, a cub died. Then the forest officials, doctors and Kuno park management kept Jwala and the cubs under observation and monitoring.
Even female Cheetah Jwala was given food supplements. They did not find the condition of 3 cubs normal during the monitoring.
As per them, 23rd May 2023 was the hottest day of the summer season there, and the temperature rose up to 46-47 degree Celsius. There was extreme hot winds and heat waves throughout the day. Seeing this condition, doctors and management decoded to rescue the 3 cubs and proceed with necessary treatment. But, despite of their efforts, they were unable to save 2 cubs.
This is such a sad news, meaning now Kuno has only one cub of Jwala.
And another sad news is that there are already 3 Cheetahs died at this Kuno National park, which raises so many questions.
One Namibian cheetah passed away in March this year from kidney illness, another South African cheetah died in April from a dubious reason, and a second South African cheetah passed on recently subsequent to being harmed by male cheetahs during mating endeavours.
We hope to see no more Cheetah death in Kuno national Park and let the rich biodiversity and wildlife heritage is preserved in India to ensure sustainable and vibrant ecosystem.
Natural habitat preservation and safeguarding wildlife population fosters ecological equilibrium andit protects the delicate balance of nature, and offers essential pathways for animals to travel freely.
