Over 238 Dead 900 Injured so far, Coromandel Express accident in Bahanaga Balasore district of Odisha, Rescue and Search Operation continues, More casualties and Injuries are anticipated

Coromandel Express Howrah to Chennai train met with a severe accident in Balasore Odisha on 2nd June 2023. The exact reason and sequence of the accident is not yet confirmed although we are getting 1-2 sequence of incidents from different news channel.

The inquiry is to be done but before that let us tell you that in this accident total 3 trains are involved and in which Coromandel Express Howrah to Chennai, Yeshwanthpur Howrah train and a goods train are involved.

The accident is so severe that the situation is very heart wrenching and breaking. 238 people are already found dead and over 900 people are insured in this train tragedy.

According to the eye witnesses, the sound after the accident was enormous and loud. People rushed quickly near to the accident area, heard people screaming, coaches are upside down. So localities quickly tried to recover the stuck passengers and took them to near by hospitals.

Many people joined in this operation and NDRF, ODRF, Fire team and Indian Army are also now joined in this operation along with hundreds of local people.

Several people are already taken to near by hospitals, near by district hospitals. Several ambulances are involved in this operation.

Govt has announced for free health check up and treatment for all injured passengers.

As per many eye witnessing people and news channels, we have got the information that the Coromandel express carrying passengers from Howrah to Chennai first hit some derailed coaches of a goods train and around 15 coaches are derailed.

Next Yeshwanthpur Howrah train coming from Bangalore to Howrah hit the derailed coaches of coromandel express, which again derailed 2 coaches of Yeshwanthpur Howrah train and ran over the top of some derailed coaches of Coromandel express.

Meaning few people who would have tried to escape out of Coromandel Express after the accident would have faced another accident by Yeshwanthpur Howrah train.

Some news channels are also showing that Yeshwanthpur Howrah train derailed somehow first and the Coromandel express coming from Howrah to Chennai hit the derailed coaches of Yeshwanthpur Howrah train. The Speed was too much and accident became severe. 15 coaches of Coromandel express derailed immediately. After that a goods train hit the derailed coaches of Coromandel express.

By looking at the visuals in TV, we can feel how bad the situation is.

Prime Minister has expressed his condolences the dead passengers family, and grief for the injured passengers. He is constantly getting updates from Central Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

He has requested for a emergency high level meeting with senior officials to handle this situation.

After reviewing the situation, PM is to be visiting the accident site and then he will visit the hospitals.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is getting every minute details of the incident and declared free treatment for all the injured passengers.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also in constant touch with the government officials to get update on this tragic train accident.

As per the latest update, one coach is yet to be searched. Search is so difficult in this coach cause the coach itself is submerged under the soil. More casualties and Injuries are expected from this coach.

One passenger was giving update that all of a sudden they got to know train has faced accident. Later he lost his sense. After sometime when he gained the senses, he got to see that 7-8 people were on top of him, he was feeling a lot of pain in his body. He saw many people were not having hands or legs or damaged faces.

Many trains in this route are cancelled and the route of many trains are changed.

Railway minister has declared consolation packages for dead and injured families.

Now, the rescue team is cutting the train coach through plasma cutter to rescue the stuck people from the last one coach since the coach cannot be lifted by the cranes by looking at the safety of the stuck passengers lives.
